A German Shepherd Hits a Homerun at Yankee Stadium

NYC rarely stops for any reason or anyone but this person known as The Pope has some serious influence.  The streets all over the city were shut down to all traffic and I heard no one complaining.  It was really nice.

He visited the World Trade Center site today, giving words of hope and meeting with some of the families who have lost someone to that horrible tragedy. His message was so well received.  He even prayed for the redemption of those "consumed with hatred", a reference to the hijackers.

Then off he went to Yankee Stadium, all 81 years old of him and as spry as a young lad.  His smile and attention seemed so genuine.  Many people interviewed who were lucky enough to have met him up close and person all said, " It's as if he's known you and is really interested in you."

I've never, ever seen the Bronx look so good.  They really put on their party dress as Yankee Stadium.  It looked fantastic.  There was a Concert for Hope with the likes of Jose Feliciano, Stephanie Mills and others.  Then Pope Benedict held an amazing mass.

Talk about great planning and execution.  They were able to orchestrate Communion for about 60,000 people in about 15 -20 minutes!

There was divine presence everywhere.  When he was at the WTC, the weather was unusually cold, damp, grey and gloomy as if to represent the solemnence of the moment and it stayed that way until right he arrived at the stadium.  The rainy drizzled stopped, the grey clouds drifted away and bright sunshine poured in.

Definitely a divine presence - calm, polite, patience on the streets of NYC.   Who would have thunk it?
