"We have at most ten years—not ten years to decide upon action, but ten years to alter fundamentally the trajectory of global greenhouse emissions.” -Jim Hansen, NASA. Yikes. Time is running out. If we don’t curb greenhouse gases that cause global warming in a hurry, global warming is going to be a runaway train. Rising sea levels, floods, droughts, species extinction, tropical diseases—they’re going to become increasingly disastrous, and we won’t be able to stop them. Hundreds of millions of people are going to lose their homes. What are we gonna do? We’re going to FLICK OFF, that’s what. If everybody flicks off—if everybody starts conserving energy—it’ll make a huge difference. Here’s why: we burn fossil fuels for energy. Burning fossil fuels releases huge amounts of greenhouse gases. And greenhouse gases, well, they came by their name honestly. They turn our super fabulous planet into a greenhouse. The biggest culprits? Coal for electricity. And oil for cars, trucks, trains, planes and ships. One other thing—we waste energy like crazy. North Americans are the undisputed energy gluttons of the world. We use old, crappy, inefficient technology; we haven’t embraced wind and solar power; and we have the worst habits on the planet. Are you starting to get the picture? We need you to FLICK OFF, and tell everyone you know to FLICK OFF. The more you do it, the cooler it gets. The planet, that is.
North Americans (Canada, United States) have to join forces to correct this problem or we're FLICKed!

"Are We Flicked? Well… yeah. Global warming is affecting biodiversity, food systems, economies, human and animal life, and our living habits. This is why everyday folk have to commit to change. Let’s face it, government and big business aren’t racing to meet their targets.
Instead of adapting to the way our earth is declining, it’s time to work on getting back to sustaining a healthy environment. If we don’t FLICK OFF right now, then we’re this close to being FLICKed for good. |
