Bling It On!

One of the hottest trends in Hollywood this year was big bling rings.  What took them so long, I've always found it a great way to shine is with a big, beautiful cocktail ring.  And it's not just Elizabeth Taylor and Mr. T.  Everyone from Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria to Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jay-Z are sporting platinum, white gold along with diamonds and colorful gems.

Good quality, genuine jewelry, also known as ice or bling, formerly known as bling-bling stands the test of time.  Adding the right pieces can be just what you need to bring your style to celebrity status. The better the quality the less of it you need, so they say.   So adorn thyself, sparkle, dazzle!

One of the hottest trends in Hollywood this year was big bling rings.  What took them so long?  One of my favorite ways to shine up a simple outfit is with a big, beautiful cocktail ring. It’s not just gold and diamonds anymore.

Colorful gems and other interesting metals have become very popular.  For example, Platinum is considered to be very durable and provide high resistance to the wear and tear caused by routine activities. Moreover, platinum is also a good buy for the people with sensitive skin. It doesn't trigger any allergic reactions.  Price may be a consideration though since it’s about three times expensive than a gold ring.

filestitaniumring.JPGTitanium, another recent addition to the market is immensely popular.  It is famous for very unique properties. It doesn’t corrode, dull or rust over time. It is much stronger than gold, silver and even steel.  It’s much lighter and hence more comfortable to wear and available in popular shapes and in various unique designs and engravings. The price of these pieces is less compared to costly diamond, gold and platinum.  Like Platinum, it is hypoallergenic.

You may not be royalty but you can certainly feel like it with this ring.

filesbenniferring.JPGThe ex Bennifer (for those of you who’ve been in a coma the past few years, that’s Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck when they were a couple) really made a splash with a pink diamond beauty but this version is “commitment free”.

filesnicolerichiering.JPGNicole Richie's former 6 carat engagement ring worth an estimated $75,000 is a delicious art deco inspired diamond and pink sapphire engagement ring. This 6.5 carat cubic zirconia ring is pure pink glamour. The noticeable difference? Only the price, my darling fashionistas.

filesheidiklumring.JPGYellow diamonds don't just sparkle like the stars, they're worn by them too.  P. Diddy has a gorgeous canary yellow diamond ring.  Heidi Klum’s engagement ring from husband Seal is a whopping 10 karats!

A simple pair of diamond studs are always appropriate and add elegance to even the most casual outfit. Beautiful diamonds need no other decoration to sparkle gorgeously. iconicon

filescirclediamondpendant.jpgSimple and universal, clear diamonds as in the circle pendant design seen on Desperate Housewives and Cameron Diaz is timeless and trendy all at once.

Garnet is one of the most beautiful, versatile gems. This filesicerainbowgems.jpgstunning, deep red gem is sure to please. filesAquamarine.jpg iconicon Citrine comes in a wide array of golden colors ranging from lemon yellow to sunset orange. Durable, available and affordable, citrine can spice up your wardrobe without straining your budget.  Aquamarine's pastel sea blue color makes it one of the most unique and interesting gems you can own.
