Lead singer Rob Thomas confirmed that the band is pulling out of its July 18 show at Cheyenne Frontier Days, a very large outdoor rodeo. 

Regrettably, Matchbox Twenty will not be able to perform at Cheyenne Frontier Days on July, 18th.

After careful consideration, it was decided that participating in this event would directly contradict the mission statement of SIDEWALK ANGELS FOUNDATION, our non profit organization.

The other members of Matchbox Twenty support this decision and while we understand that a great deal of effort went into the planning of this show, and apologize to any and all fans who purchased tickets to see us.

We ask that they please understand that it would be impossible for us to put ourselves in the position of making money from what we believe to be the mistreatment of animals.

Britney Spears is taking baby steps to getting her life back on track.  Maybe when she smacked her head on that metal beam outside of the Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, it knocked some sense into her.  Don't fret, my pets, she's fine. 

She has been working on the CBS sitcom, 'How I Met Your Mother', in which she portrays a receptionist in a dermatologist's office named Abby who crushes on Josh Radnor's character, Ted.

"Working at 'How I Met Your Mother' has been so terrific," Spears said in a statement Thursday. "Everyone, including the cast, the crew and the producers, has been wonderful and Abby is such a fun girl to play. I'm having a blast!"

Josh Radnor told People.com that "on the first day of the shoot, Britney knew her lines better than I knew mine. She's been great to work with."  The episode is scheduled to air on March 24.

It's reported (everywhere) that Lopez representative Simon Fields told People magazine the babies, a girl first then a boy, were born at 12:45 a.m. somewhere on Long Island. The location was not identified.

"Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon," Fields told the magazine.

Now that's how you make money, folks.  Those kids aren't 2 seconds old yet and they already have a $4 to 6 million dollar paycheck coming from People Magazine.

I don't understand why they haven't called me back about those exclusive photos I sent them of me someone's crying and sucking my thumb poignant emotional display?  My mom The proud parent says that photo is priceless but I'm sure they would part with it for some Disney tickets and a lifetime supply of beef jerky.

Just in case you've just come out of a coma or just returned from a secret space mission to the moon and didn't have internet access, here's a quick snapshot of the whirlwind (careening train wreck) called Britney Spears.

Life and career going really well but Britney decides "something's missin' y'all" so...

Britney gets married. Britney gets divorced.  Britney gets married again.  Britney gets divorced again.  Britney has a baby boy.  Oops, I Did It Again...Britney has another baby boy. 

Britney's in the hospital. Britney's out of the hospital.  Britney's back in the hospital.  Britney's out of the hospital.

Sam (Osama) Lufti, supposed friend and sometimes manager gets slapped with a restraining order to stay away from everything Britney.  Especially since he admitted to Britney's mom that he's been slipping her anti-psychotic meds in her not-so-happy meals!  He swears he has her best interests at heart, right after calling her a trashy whore.  Aww, don't friends say the sweetest things.  Oh, I think the cops want to ask you a few questions Sammy.

Every ambulance chaser lawyer in town is trying to represent Britney even though the judge has made her dad and brother her conservators until March.  She can't hire her own lawyer but somehow this guys keep showing up in court and filing papers on her behalf. 

Attorney John Eardley filed papers in federal court and claims Britney called him herself.  He said she's being held hostage.  Uh, since when do hostages get to use the phone to call lawyers?

But really people, have you since the fierce look on Britney's face?  She's gonna blow, I tell you.  One day she's gonna grab a pap by the neck and some fangs are gonna grow out and chomp!  Finger-lickin' good!  Or maybe she'll just Hit You Baby, One More Time with that ever present cellphone.

Britney Spears was quietly released from UCLA Medical Center yesterday but against the wishes of her father, who has been named as her conservator.  It doesn't feel like enough therapy time to me. I fear they detoxed her enough to save her life physically but she can't possibly be equipped to deal with the world in a healthy, non-drugged filled way.

I hope she and her family have been set up with the professional support or she'll end up right back on the streets, or worse. She's facing an uphill battle. Mental illness and drug addiction is no joke!

On a more sinister note, The NY Post reported that a court document states that Sam Lufti, aka 'her friend and sometimes manager' admits to secretly drugging Britney with powerful anti-psychotic medications Risperdol and Seroquel! 

He has also been threatening the family that he would smear the families name in the papers if they didn't listen to him.  He says he did it to try and help her since no one else would. 

I guess when he was yelling at her that she was a "piece of trash" and a "whore" was his idea of tough love.  The previously obtained restraining order preventing him to come near Britney or the Spears family is still in effect.

CelebGlitz reports:  "Britney Spears has apparently been labeled "GD" by UCLA doctors which means she’s a candidate for involuntary commitment. G.D. is an acronym for Gravely Disabled which means the patient is “unable to take care of basic needs, such as the acquisition of food, clothing or shelter” and is one of the criteria for involuntary commitment.  Anyone who’s seen Britney in the past couple of years could have told you she was Gravely Disabled!"

What's wrong with her? Rumors of crystal meth addiction and/or bipolar disorder have been swirling around the tabloids. 

Daddy Spears has been given control of medical care and finances but he will appoint an independent party to manage the money so as to avoid any thoughts of impropriety. 

Her supposed friend & manager, Sam Lufti is reportedly livid and trash talking the parents all over town because they got a restraining order stating that he can't come near Britney for at least 22 days.  What's wrong Sammy, gravy train running dry?

Wow, there's a twist for Hollywood. They got to her before she off'd herself.  I wonder what Adnan is thinking?

Back to the hospital for Britney Spears:  She was taken from her home by ambulance early Thursday and escorted to UCLA Medical Center.  The Los Angeles Times said Spears was being placed on a "mental evaluation hold." 

It's reported that this was more of an intervention than an emergency.  The hospital is praising the LAPD in arranging it.  Everything didn't go smoothly though.  There seems to be a power struggle for control over who makes decisions for Britney while she's hospitalized.  TMZ reports that Britney's parents have won round one in the tug of war with Sam Lutfi, her supposed friend, confidant & assistant. The doctors at UCLA are now "fully cooperating" with the parents in the treatment of Britney Spears.

Spears has been in a highly public downward spiral since filing for divorce from Federline in November 2006.  She shaved her head bald, attacked a car with an umbrella and cancelling trips to the courthouse in her child custody case and hanging out with her new paparazzo boyfriend.
