In Honor of Chasey Boy!
Many of you know that my boy, Rosco went to Rainbow Bridge (see below) a few months ago and thank you again for your sympathies and your donations. Today, we would like to honor another noble animal whom we were blessed to have gotten to know like family.
When we were scoping out an apartment to buy, we would hang out in the lobby and watch the goings on to see if it was a building we would be happy living in. Our decision was made the instant we saw a happy-go-lucky Rottie (the most handsome and biggest, we've ever seen) trot through. That stubby tail was going a mile a minute! Needless to say Chase and our Rosco became best pals.
Chase, ended up having the same diagnosis as 'The Rosco'. Kirk and Arlene had to make the same heart-wrenching decision as we did. We will miss this gentle giant from the bottom of our soul. Chase is survived by his brother, Shadow, (the kookiest, most comical Rottweiller we've ever met, but that's another story.)
He waits for you at Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Chase & Rosco, great friends together again, frolicking at the river and smelling the flowers when no one's looking of course, since you know, tough guys have an image to uphold.

Whether working with special needs children as Arlene does or with the New York Fire Dept. where Lt. Lester is stationed (a big shout-out to 30 Truck in Harlem, NY), they have dedicated their lives to helping people.
Please join us in honoring this special family by donating to their chosen animal charities.
The minimum is only $10. We thank you in advance because the money will go directly to the charity you choose. The counter will keep a running sum but we won't know who donated (unless you choose the e-card option) nor how much. Every little bit helps. It's a small world and we are all connected and affected by each other in someway.
Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center, one of Long Island’s oldest no-kill shelters, is dedicated to saving all companion animals whose lives are in jeopardy. They save thousands of animals from all over New York. Through rescue from kill facilities, rehabilitation of sick and un-socialized pets, and a 100% spay/neuter program, Little Shelter hopes to end pet overpopulation and place all dogs and cats in loving homes.
(Every penny sent directly to the charity.)
