The New Cast for the 2008 Star Trek Movie

The new "Star Trek" movie's first trailer was released last week.
With a hot new cast — and a story that returns to the series' roots — "Star Trek" could
recruit a fleet of new fans.

Leonard Nimoy will reprise his role as the older Spock.
William Shatner will not be involved with this film.

Hopefully these actors will embody their spirit in the new film due out Christmas 2008.

Based on a plot synopsis given on IMDB.com the film explores the origins of James T. Kirk,
Spock and the crew of the USS Enterprise from the original "Star Trek" series and how
these iconic characters came together. According to rumors, the story involves an elder Spock (Nimoy)
and a group of Romulans (led by Nero, played by Eric Bana) being transplanted into the past
where Spock must prevent the Romulans from irreparably damaging the timeline.
To do so, he will have to enlist the assistance of his younger self (Quinto).
